Weeds...Every year right about this time we get a whole new crop of little yellow flowers in our yards and in the fields. What do you call those flowers? (Let some guess…)

 Some people call them dandelions. We have all seen someone pick a bunch of them and give them to their parents. The funny thing about that is that dandelions are weeds. That little yellow flower turns into a puffy white ball of a thousand seeds. When those seeds fly away and take root what do they make? They make hundreds…maybe thousands of new weeds.

If you leave those weeds alone, eventually they will take over and ruin the good things that you want to grow in your yard or garden.

Sin is like that weed! If we let sin go unchecked or unconfessed in our life, eventually it can cause quite a mess. Besides it hurts the heart of God as well. God desires that we not let sin get a foothold in our life. He wants us to avoid it, get rid of it and confess it.

On the contrary, God says in Hosea 10:12 that he wants us to sow or plant seeds of love and righteousness in our lives. These are the seeds that he wants to take root and grow in our hearts.
